Hello!

I'm a freelance environmental journalist and a master's student at New York University's Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program. In the time I've spent covering environmental and conservation stories, I've filmed researchers chasing down endangered geckos in South Florida for Mongabay; written the story of how children in northern Tanzania are leading the way in natural resource conservation for Earth Island Journal; and uncovered such environmental health crises in Florida as PFAS contamination, septic tank leakages and red tide research for the Pulitzer Center, WUFT News, Miami Herald and more.

Beyond news stories, I have an eye for narrative storytelling, a geeky love for data journalism and an ongoing fascination with photo and video as tools for my reporting. I look forward to taking my work abroad as a foreign correspondent, using my proficiency in French and beginner's knowledge of Swahili along the way. I have had the great fortune of traveling to eight countries and two continents so far -- four in Europe and four in Africa -- and cannot wait to continue exploring our beautiful planet.

Aside from geeking out over wildlife and scientific discoveries, I have a passion for classic literature, black-and-white movies, the endless Star Wars universe, American football, learning new languages, and fulfilling the duality of (wo)man by balancing my yoga and kickboxing practices. I graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with my bachelor's degree in journalism and a specialization in wildlife ecology and conservation.
